#introductions
hey everyone. i figured ill use this post an opportunity to introduce myself to this community. my name is molly, im 22, graduated with a bachelors in psych and working towards a masters in counseling so i can work with young LGBT+ and autistic adults out here in northwestern minnesota.
some of my interests include anime, video games, linux (and FOSS in general -- like the kind that actually benefits people), rap music, and the history of communism.
dms are open! much love : )
greater minnesota needs to be depoliced just as much as the twin cities area. in fact, there is a good argument to be made that it is just as important if not more important to depolice the areas outside the metro centers of each state in the US than it is the depolice said metro centers if not moreso
love it when people argue that marxists, leftists, etc. are cucked for working with social constructs and analyzing the importance of aspects of life like gender and class and race when capitalists are literally just inventing their own currencies bc theyre afraid of the ruling class coming and tracking down them down
a personal experience, stated generally:
the gaul of bigots who have the nerve to argue how queer people do not deserve to see any representation in media as being healthy or normal members of society and yet act as if they are the ones who were first put in a self-defense situation when you stick up for yourself? like no.
mainstream media has succeeded in making people think of minorities as simply political talking points and every time i find myself being the talking point with negotiable levels of respect or autonomy in the eyes of others and then find myself scrutinized for daring to have a hostile reaction to that, oh goodness does that full send me
When everyone in the US finds this much bravery within themselves, we'll start doing okay:

in the same vein as whining about my cold sore, i've been thinking a lot about how sex work adds more pressure to stay in shape (or at least the shape i was in when i advertised to my clients). sex work is a pretty body positive industry in some ways, but on an individual level i feel that i should be 'as advertised'.
