The forbidden peach
Han Feizi 韓非 wrote about Duke Ling of Wey 衛靈公 (5th century BCE), who had a male lover, Mízi Xiá? 彌子瑕.
Once, Mízi Xiá took a bite of a peach, then shared the rest of the delicious peach with the Duke. And after that, the phrase “the bitten peach” was used to refer to homosexuality.
