No chrome.
@riking dear god, I wasn't aware of that D:
@bram the thing you need to realize is that these policies are all fine.... as long as Chrome is the only program using them.
@riking yeah, they took the "chrome os" joke a bit too far x(
@bram chrome os is the natural conclusion of all this.
Also it's the pioneer of a widely deployed, well tested, solid A/B update system.
I'm willing to bet $20 or more that ChromeOS influenced the Nintendo Switch updater, and that's why we have three second updates.
@bram
Anyways in conclusion that is why Electron is bad - it takes those "I'm responsible for everything" policies and puts them in multiple apps
@riking haven't took the time to dig into chrome update system, do you have any links?
@bram this page contains most of the principles: https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/chromiumos-design-docs/filesystem-autoupdate
(I.. don't see any dates on this? that's pretty sucky)
Supplement (talks about recovery): https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/chromiumos-design-docs/filesystem-autoupdate-supplements
@bram "is this free real estate?"
@bram it will do this with disk space too! "The HTTP cache is capped at 10% free disk space"
