The thing I don’t love about things like is that incentivizes compartmentalization of acceptance/inclusion. If I’m queer all year, why can I only be proud in June? See also: Autism Acceptance Month and many other examples.

@magnus919 I hope we'll see a day when the LGBTQIA+ population is no longer persecuted, but, until then, I guess every little bit of visibility helps in some way. I think of it as a way to raise awareness and maybe get more people to adopt a more inclusive mindset, while acknowledging that it's a heavy burden to have to do extra work just so the rest of the population might one day treat everyone equally by default...
