I really like rdiff-backup, but it's not being maintained and is one of my few remaining Python2 dependencies. What's a logical successor that's Python3 (or in a different language altogether)?

@nivex Not exactly a logical successor, but bup is based on git, so you get similar utility of differential backups in the form of discrete commits...

@sendoshin One of the nice things about rdiff-backup was the current version of the backup shows up as a standard file tree. Not a showstopper though.

bup package on Debian 9 shows a hard dep on python2.7, so that's a pass.
